This weekend we took a trip to Cincinnati for the weekend. On Friday, Kalob and I went to the Cubs/Reds game at Great American Ball Park. It was the first time that I had been to this ball park and I have to say that I would highly recommend it. The Cubs lost 11-1 and it rained quite a bit but we still had a good time. We sat 5 rows up in right field and they were excellent seats. It finally did quit raining around the 5 inning or so.
The next day we all went to the Cincinnati Zoo. We had been to this zoo before but we really like it. We spent most of the day there and Kalob and Maddox had a good time. We did manage to lose our digital camera (which SUCKS!). Luckily, I didn’t lose to many pictures on the memory card. Later on that evening, we went to a restaurant that has been featured on the Food Network called Choo Choo Restaurant. It was an old train station that was converted into a restaurant. It has an old diner feel and I would recommend it if you want something that is not a chain. The food was good and reasonably priced. Later on, we went to a putt-putt and go-kart track. Maddox and Kalob loved riding the go-carts and playing golf. It was good to spend a whole weekend with Amy and the boys uninterrupted.
The next day we were heading home and stopped by the Bass Pro Shop before leaving the Cincinnati area. The boys had a good time looking around at all of the cool stuff they have there. It was nice to get away from “reality” for the weekend even if it was only a couple of hours away.
