This is a really cool product that is very similar to Twitter but is for the enterprise. Yammer is a too for making companies more productive through short frequent answers to one question “What are you working on?”. Very similar obviously to Twitter: “What are you doing?”. As employees within the organization answer this question, a feed is created in one central location allowing co-workers to discuss ideas and much more. It also serves as a directory for the company where every employee has a profile and where past conversations can be accessed.

Anyone within your organization can start they Yammer network and begin inviting co-workers. Only individuals with a valid company address would be able to access the network. The basic Yammer service is free. You can pay for the premium service which would allow you to have administrative control over your company’s yammer network. Check out the demo here.

I think this could be a really cool service if you can get the buy in from others in the organization to use it on a regular basis. Let me know what you think.
